Aedis at Top Golf

More than 15 months ago, like so many other companies, we grabbed our computers and office chairs and heard the doors lock behind us as we headed into lock down. Over these several months, we have maintained our productivity and found creative ways to stay connected from all over the world. The gradual opening of the economy has allowed us more mobility and opportunity to meet in very small groups, but we haven’t been able to get together in a larger sense—solid relationships have been hard to maintain across separate teams. Starting next week, however, we will be returning to the office voluntarily, and with great care, considering the Delta Variant situation. The rekindling of our fun, creative, hard-working collaborative in-person office culture will begin! This week we kicked off the effort with an afternoon social event at San Jose’s new Top Golf facility. We are overjoyed to find that we still enjoy each other’s company!

Aedis excursion to Baseball Game

Last month we brought our San Jose and Sacramento offices “together” in a unique way to celebrate spring, enjoy our fellow Aediseans, and spend some time cheering for our local baseball teams. On the very same evening, our San Jose office attended a San Jose Giants game and the Sacramento office cheered on the Sacramento River Cats. Our families got to spend time with our work family while enjoying our shared love of baseball. A wonderful time was had by all! Thank you to our extended Aedis family for joining us. Without you, we couldn’t do the important work of leaving a #PositiveLastingImpact on the communities we serve.

Baby Shower

Celebrating our Aediseans’ individual life milestones is important! So, recently, a large contingent of our San Jose office carpooled to Sacramento to surprise our very own Andrew Mikkelsen, AIA, and his lovely wife Katelyn, with a yummy lunch, baby games, and gifts. We had an opportunity to celebrate together and shower the new parents-to-be with love, advice, and cake! It’s moments like these that leave a #PositiveLastingImpact on our entire Aedis family.

Aedis excursion to Bay FC Game

Last week our Aediseans and their families enjoyed some bonding time outside the office to cheer on San Jose’s new professional women’s soccer team, BayFC. A wonderful time was had by all! Thank you to our extended Aedis family for joining us. Without you, we couldn’t do the important work of leaving a PositiveLastingImpact on the communities we serve.

Hoover Elementary School Campus Modernization Update

Palo Alto Unified School District’s Hoover Elementary School is undergoing a complete campus modernization and replacement process. The project includes new single and two-story classroom buildings, new play structures throughout, a reimagined administrative building and campus entry, and a large multipurpose room. Aedis, with the help of our collaborator XL Construction, designed this project with mass timber, including TimberQuest, allowing Palo Alto Unified to incorporate sustainable, biophilic, and ecofriendly building solutions within the campus. We are humbled to know that the campus design will leave a PositiveLastingImpact on the students, staff and community of Hoover Elementary School.
