Teamwork

At Aedis, there is no single or permanent hero. Each Aedis member has the opportunity to be the star on any given project or activity. With a flat hierarchy, everyone gets a chance to be involved in all aspects of a project, from master planning, design, project management, technical documentation to construction administration.

Life Long Learning

We support and encourage professional and personal growth for all employees. Aedis University has been the vehicle that advances our collective knowledge and expertise through in-house and outside seminars, lectures and workshops.

Social Life

We recognize that personal relationships formed at work are an important part of everyone’s life, and as such, we always look for opportunities to get together, share ideas and experience. For example, we have a monthly soirée, when we get together in late afternoon for light food and refreshments, and discuss architecture, urban design, sustainability and any issues of interest to the group. The soirées are often coordinated with neighborhood cultural and arts events. Additionally, we routinely celebrate birthdays, employee key life events and company achievements.

Urban Life

Our location in the center of the fast-changing SoFA district opens the door to the urban amenities downtown San Jose offers: a rich choice of lunch and dinner venues, arts and cultural events, lectures, First Friday art fair, easy access to the AIASCV office, bicycle sharing, a tech shop and many others.

Sustainability & Health

Aedis is green – this is a value that permeates our office environment and daily life. Conserving, reusing and recycling are integral to our operations. The company provides all employees with an Ecopass for free transportation on all VTA bus and light rail routes. Annual passes for bike sharing are also available to employee use. The neighborhood, with the nearby Guadalupe River Park are great to explore on foot.

Sustainable practices translate directly to health benefits. The air we breathe in the office is cleaner: low VOC materials minimize off-gassing while displacement ventilation lets contaminants rise naturally and be exhausted from the building. Walking, biking, climbing stairs to our 3rd floor office all make us more fit. We have access to an urban market downstairs that features local and organic food, and we have a weekly farmers’ market nearby.
