Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District
This campus-wide modernization involved the renovation of various buildings such as Industrial Arts, Gymnasium, Art & History, Theater and the Main Classroom Building.
This aquatic center is a joint project of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District, the Town of Los Gatos, and Valley Vision, a local community group. The center’s various components respond to the needs of these diverse groups.
The most significant challenge of the project was to wedge the pool in a narrow space between two existing buildings on a sloped site. The result is a uniquely configured pool. Because of inadequate width, a moveable bulkhead is used to change the length of the pool to accommodate both the 50-meter and 25-yard competitions. The pool has eight swim lanes and a shallow area designed for children’s use. Changing facilities are located on both sides of the pool.
